  3. The monster within! Poe says “The fury of a demon instantly possessed me.” He is overcome with an insidious desire that drives him to do the unthinkable. This uncontrollable urge brings forth unimaginable results.

  4. Emotions Poe’s maincharacter displays a wide range of emotions. I think readers can identify with the feelings not necessarily the actions that the man takes to alleviate his uncontrollable impulses.

  5. Shock and awe! Poe shocks us; makes our eyes pop out and our jaws drop with his raw terror! Every page turned we pause with hesitation but cannot stop reading. He is the master of fright and horror beyond unspeakable thoughts. His legacy has left an everlasting impression in the darkest corners of our hearts.
