  2. A Tool • DHB: Daily-Hourly Breakdown • Tabulate traffic by date and by hour for all data obtained • Identify Patterns • Determine time periods of interest • Compute average profiles

  4. Busiest Busy Hour • Identify in the DHB • Largest entry within the valid cells • “Worst Case” scenario

  5. DHB - Busiest Hour Hour Date 8am 9am 10am … 9/1 9/2 9/3 . . . Largest Entry in the DHB

  6. Average Business Day • Select “valid” days • Average over these days for every hour • Identify the “Average Busy Hour” • Make adjustments to the average business day as needed

  7. DHB - Average Business Day Hour Date 8am 9am 10am … 9/1 9/2 9/3 . . . Average for 9am Average for 8am

  8. Average Business Day Hour 8am 9am 10am … Separate hours that seem to belong to a common time period, for example similar usage, or similar discounting periods.

  9. Monthly Traffic • Average over the selected hours yields “Average Hour Traffic” in each of the separate time periods (e.g. day and evening) • Sum over all hours in a group yields the “Average Business Day Traffic” or “Average Evening Traffic” • Define the number of business days per month • Average Business Day Traffic * No. of Days is the estimated monthly daytime traffic, etc. • Adjust as needed for variations and growth
