Writer’s Work Time • Read a classmate’s memoir in the Online Classroom. • Notice something in the published piece that you react to as a reader. • Use the sentence starters to write a thoughtful comment. • Write the comment on Respond to Others’ Writing (Handout 6.5a) or Post a comment online that begins with that sentence starter. • Support your statements with specific references to the text of the published piece. • Read another classmate’s piece and comment in the same way.
