APPLICABILITY AND REQUIREMENT • For Professional Nurse, Staff Nurse and Nursing Assistant with effect from 1 July 2007 • Registration with South African Nursing Council [SANC] must be the inherent requirement of the post

Phase 1-Notch to Notch adjustment General Nursing Stream • Part A Annexure D translate Professional Nurses, Senior Professional Nurses and Chief Professional Nurses at production level. New Designation is Professional Nurse Grades 1, 2 and 3 • Part B Annexure D translate Chief Professional Nurse[level 8] in charge of ward /unit appointed to post. New designation is Operational Manager Nursing grades 1 and 2
Where more than one was in charge and or they were rotating, the post of Operational Manager will be created and advertised. • Part C Annexure D translate Programme Co-ordinators[ level 10] in District Offices. New designation is Clinical Programme Co-ordinators grades 1 and 2

Phase 2 –Conditions for recognising relevant experience • A once off translation of Professional Nurse,Staff Nurse and Nursing Assistant[production level] in service as at 30 June 2007. • Professional Nurse grades 1 and 2[speciality nursing] and Clinical Nursing Practitioner grades 1 and 2[PHC] must be in possession of post basic qualification. • Recalculation of relevant experience of in-service nursing personnel in service as at 30 June 2007 entails recognition up to 31 march 2007.
Recognition of relevant experience is determined by employees current occupational category as at 30 June 2007 provided his/her occupational category remained unchanged as at 1 July 2007. • Certificates of service from previous employers to be submitted by the employee for recognition purposes and should be verified.
Relevant experience for in-service employees to be verified either on the service records on personal files, on Persal records and taking into account the certificates of service that may be available on personal files. • The annexure which was completed by all in-service nursing personnel for tabulation of relevant experience must be verified as explained above. The experience that may be unverifiable will not be recognised as the onus rests with the employee to submit proof in the form of certificate of service. Certificates of service must be submitted by 31 March 2008 as the cut off date.
Phase 2 Re-calculation of relevant experience-Professional Nurse, Staff Nurse and Nursing Assistant. • Part A Annexure G for recalculation of relevant experience in respect of Professional Nurse grades 1,2 and 3[General Nursing] • Part B Annexure G for recalculation of relevant experience in respect of Professional Nurse grades 1 and 2[Speciality Nursing]
Part C Annexure G for recalculation of relevant experience in respect of Clinical Nursing Practitioner grades 1 and 2[Primary Health Care] • Part D Annexure G for recalculation of relevant experience in respect of Lecturer grades 1 and 2
Part E Annexure G for recalculation of relevant experience in respect of Staff Nurse grades 1,2 and 3. • Part F Annexure G for recalculation of relevant experience in respect of Nursing Assistant grades 1,2 and 3.
