What is the Rally for Education? Rally for Education is a school wide annual fundraiser. This year’s fundraiser is comprised of a road rally, golf tournament and community event. 2013 Rally for Education golf tournament is Sept. 19. The tournament starts at 5 pm and is located at the Ponderosa Springs Golf course in Coeur d’ Alene. The 2013 Rally for Education is September 21. Car decoration launches the event at 11 am and the actual road rally begins at 1 pm. The community event activities start at the Kootenai County fairgrounds at 3 pm.
This year, the Rally for Education committee has added a new way to bring in more funds to support CDA Charter Academy…..A team concept with pledges/donations system
Team Concept • How will they do it? • Each grade has been spilt into teams with team names and a country that they are representing. Each team will have a car represented in the road rally on September 21. • The goal is for teams to solicit pledges/donations for their car during the pledge period – August 30 – September 23. There are individual and team incentives along the way. • Students will help by volunteering to decorate their team car the morning of the road rally as well as assisting at the road rally pit stops.
Teams • Middle School • 6th grade: Ireland Lucky Charms • 7th grade: Egypt Golden Genies • 8th grade: Brazil Party Parrots • High School • 9th grade: Australia Wild Aussies • 10th grade: South Africa Wildcats • 11th grade: England Cheeky Chaps • 12th grade: Spain Spanish Matadors
Team pledges/donations Students can solicit pledges/donations by: • Arranging with a local store to stand in front and solicit for pledges/donations, • Mailing pledge forms to family and friends, • Asking neighbors, members of their church, club or social groups for pledges/donations, • Asking Mom, Dad, or guardian to take pledge forms into their work, and/or • Asking for pledges/donations at their own place of employment; if they work.
Please remember that there are only 2 more weeks to turn in pledge/donation money to count towards team and individual incentives! Pledge/donation collection dates: Monday, 9/16 & Monday, 9/23
Team Incentives Weekly Donuts • The middle and high school teams that collect the most pledge/donation money each week will get donuts each Wednesdays.
