  2. What is the Rally for Education? Rally for Education is a school wide annual fundraiser. This year’s fundraiser is comprised of a road rally, golf tournament and community event. 2013 Rally for Education golf tournament is Sept. 19. The tournament starts at 5 pm and is located at the Ponderosa Springs Golf course in Coeur d’ Alene. The 2013 Rally for Education is September 21. Car decoration launches the event at 11 am and the actual road rally begins at 1 pm. The community event activities start at the Kootenai County fairgrounds at 3 pm.

  3. This year, the Rally for Education committee has added a new way to bring in more funds to support CDA Charter Academy…..A team concept with pledges/donations system

  4. Team Concept • How will they do it? • Each grade has been spilt into teams with team names and a country that they are representing. Each team will have a car represented in the road rally on September 21. • The goal is for teams to solicit pledges/donations for their car during the pledge period – August 30 – September 23. There are individual and team incentives along the way. • Students will help by volunteering to decorate their team car the morning of the road rally as well as assisting at the road rally pit stops.

  5. Teams • Middle School • 6th grade: Ireland Lucky Charms • 7th grade: Egypt Golden Genies • 8th grade: Brazil Party Parrots • High School • 9th grade: Australia Wild Aussies • 10th grade: South Africa Wildcats • 11th grade: England Cheeky Chaps • 12th grade: Spain Spanish Matadors

  6. Team pledges/donations Students can solicit pledges/donations by: • Arranging with a local store to stand in front and solicit for pledges/donations, • Mailing pledge forms to family and friends, • Asking neighbors, members of their church, club or social groups for pledges/donations, • Asking Mom, Dad, or guardian to take pledge forms into their work, and/or • Asking for pledges/donations at their own place of employment; if they work.

  7. Please remember that there are only 2 more weeks to turn in pledge/donation money to count towards team and individual incentives! Pledge/donation collection dates: Monday, 9/16 & Monday, 9/23

  8. INCENTIVES

  9. Team Incentives Weekly Donuts • The middle and high school teams that collect the most pledge/donation money each week will get donuts each Wednesdays. Team Gathering • The middle school and high school teams that collect the most pledge/ donation money for the entire pledge period will earn a team gathering.

  10. Top Producing Team • The team (middle or high school) that brings in the most pledge/ donation money during the first 3 weeks of the full pledge period will be the lead car at the Rally.

  11. Individual Incentives Bonus Bucks • Each student will receive bonus bucks each week for their totals of which they raise during the Rally for Education pledge period. The bonus bucks can be spent in the “Bonus Buck Station” which will be set up during lunch on Thursdays for MS and Fridays for HS. The “Bonus Buck Station” contains different containers filled with toys, games, books, candy, certificates, CCA spirit items and more. Top Producer • The student that brings in the most money throughout the entire pledge period will receive a CDA Charter Academy tote bag filled with goodies.

  12. How to get involved?

  13. Student Volunteering • Students are needed to assist with decorating their team car on September 21 before the road rally begins. Car decorating will happen at the HS parking lot from 11-12. There is a trophy for the best decorated team car! • Students are needed to volunteer at the pit stops with the pit stop activities. Pit stops along the rally route are assigned per grade. • Pit Stop #1 – 12th grade (12:00 pm – 3:00 pm) • Pit Stop #2 – 8th and 9th grades (12:30 pm – 3:00 pm) • Pit Stop #3- 6th and 7th grades (1:00 pm – 4:00 pm) • Pit Stop #4- 10th and 11th grades (1:30 pm – 4:30 pm)

Parent Volunteering • Before the Road Rally & Community Event • 4-8 volunteers to help set up & decorate at the fairgrounds • 6 volunteers to assist with road rally timing • 2 volunteers to set up the raffle tables at the fairgrounds • 3 volunteers to make cotton candy before 3 pm at the fairgrounds • At the Pit Stops • 2-4 volunteers per pit stop – there are 4 pit stops • At the Community Event: Help with games & concessions • 21 volunteers to help with event from 2:30 pm – 5:00 pm • 19 volunteers to help with the event from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm • 22 volunteers to help with the event from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Community Event Schedule of Events • 3:00 pm: Community Event Opens • 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm: Family Fun ActivitiesEntertainment – Mr. Miles • 5:00 pm: Dinner Begins • 5:00 pm: Separate Beer Garden opens • 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm: Entertainment – CDA Charter Jazz/Pep Band • 6:15 pm: Dessert Live Auction • 6:30 pm: Live Auction • 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm: Entertainment – Don McPeak (music & dancing)

  17. 2013 Rally for Education Pricing Guide • Road Rally Entry fee – • $60 per car (includes driver & navigator), 2 rally shirts & 2 dinner tickets ---- DEADLINE TO ENTER: 9/17/13 • Dinner Tickets - • $10 per person with free admission • $40 for family of 5 or more with free admission • Admission Tickets - • $3.00 per person (ages 18 and up) – admission only • $2.00 per person (ages 6 – 18) – admission only • Free for kiddos 5 and under Tickets may be purchased at the either of the front offices or at the event!
