  1. MILITARY TIME

  2. Frequently used in health care to avoid the confusion created by AM and PM.

  3. Military time uses a 24 hour clock instead of a 12 hour clock.

  4. The 12th hour is at 12 noon and the 24th hour is at midnight.

  5. Remember these key points!! • Time is always expressed using 4 digits. • Ex. 2000

  6. AM hours are expressed with the same numbers as the traditional clock • 1 am is 0100 • 8:30 am is 0830 • 11 am is 1100

  7. An easy way to convert the Pm hours is to add the time to 1200 • 3 pm is 1200 + 300 = 1500 • 7pm is 1200 + 700 = 1900
