A Little Vocabulary… • Look at the pictures, What do these mean? • Climb- go up a mountain or thing • Go sightseeing- go see landmarks or “sights” in a city • Go to the top of- go up a building, to the top floor • Try- eat for the first time, or do for the first time • Take a tour of- take a tour of, pretty clear • Take pictures of- take pictures of, again, pretty clear
A Little Vocabulary… • We use all of this with the present perfect to Ask and Talk About actions with visitors… • For example:
Hey Ms El-Hendi, you live in Washington…Have you taken a tour of the White House? As a matter of fact, I haven’t…because I’m too lazy…
Wait a minute…Ms El-Hendi, you have lived in the USA for almost 20 years…Have you ever gone to the top of the Statue of Liberty? Actually… no I haven’t.
But I’m sure you’ve gonesightseeing in New York, right…everybody’s done that…? Um…no I haven’t…
