  1. iDCS 500 The Evolution Continues

  2. What is the iDCS 500? • The next generation of the DCS Family • Bigger--unique networking possibilities • Versatile--new hardware and software • Advanced--computer telephony, IP enabled • Feature-Rich--too many to mention...

  3. What will we be covering? • System Benefits • Position within and outside Samsung • New Technology • New Features • Certification

  4. Why has the iDCS 500 Been Created? • Internal Influences • We wanted to offer users and dealers a system that they won’t outgrow • We wanted to create a system that would support our existing hardware and allow growth into the IP arena

  5. Why has the iDCS 500 Been Created? • External Influences • DCS has only one T1 and does not support ESF or PRI • Market demands for a reliable networked key systems • The necessity of supporting new IP technology

  6. Where does 500 Fit in Samsung? • Our positioning is from 40-250 stations • 488 Ports with up to 360 stations; 352 Trunks using PRI, or 208 analog Trunks • You can network up to 4 iDCS 500 systems together

  7. What are the major benefits of the iDCS 500? • Builds on reliable DCS platform - offers features and technology new to Samsung • Adds new scalability for users—boards and telephones from DCS work in 500 including the iDCS 14 Button AOM • Creates a unique price structure with three versions of the system

  8. What hasn’t changed? • PSU 60 • Trunk Cards from DCS • Cadence and SVMi-8 • Cards that won’t migrate • T1, V dial, TrunkA-A1, SIM

  9. New Hardware • Built-in modem (Optional) • Remote programming and maintenance • Smart media card • Stores system software & customer database • iDCS LAN • Ethernet connection to data network

  10. New Hardware • E-911 Card • Supports up to 4 CAMA trunks to pass on calling info to 911 center • TEPRI • A Combination T1 ESF and PRI • IDCS ITM3 8 channel VoIP interface card • Voice over the Internet

  11. New Software • M—basic software, T1/PRI/BRI, LAN, VoIP • L—multi-cabinet software, enhanced features • LE—networking multiple iDCS 500s • LH hotel/motel--Bi directional PMS interface (early second quarter)

  12. New Options • PRI • VoIP • LAN Interface • Networking • Computer Telephony

  13. PRI • 3 PRI per cabinet • iDCS 500 only requires 1 slot for T1 because it allows 32 timeslots per slot • Supports 5ESS and NI2 protocols, so users can see both name and number

  14. PRI • Users can choose name or number to display first • Outbound Caller ID • E-911support gives DID when dialing 911

  15. VOIP • ITM3 card supports up to 8 voice calls over IP Network • Add 8 more calls with daughter board

  16. LAN Interface • The iDCS LAN card provides 10/100 base Ethernet connection to data network • High-speed PC programming across network • Software uploads to the SmartMedia card via PCMMC

  17. Networking • LE Version only • Create a unified system of up to 4 iDCS 500s • Connection is via a proprietary PRI, based on Q-SIG specifications

  18. Call Completion, Busy Station Call Completion, No Response Call Forward Busy Call Forward No Response Call Forward Unconditional Call Intrusion Camp On Call Transfer Transfer Retrieve Transfer Recall DND with Pass Through DND Networking • Caller ID • Centralized Attendant • Intercom Calling • Centralized Voice Mail

  19. Computer Telephony • Smart Operator provides PC-based attendant console • All L systems have Smart Operator software as standard • 911 alerting feature with the Smart Operator

  20. Computer Telephony • Smart Centre provides ACD-type reporting to a reader board • Provides printed reports of current and historical data

  21. Computer Telephony • We support TAPI 2.1 TSP as system link. We no longer will support the CTM (Computer telephony module) TAPI 1. • Live System Programming

  22. Computer Telephony • Live remote programming with a modem, or over the Internet with the LAN card • Live system software upgrade via LAN, (Does require a restart to initialize the new software).
