There are now five distinctive locations throughout New York state that cater to vineyards. These include the Finger Lakes, Long Island, Niagara Escarpment, Hudson Valley, and Lake Erie regions.
The Finger Lakes region of New York produces the highest amount of wine and is often considered the most fertile location for New York Vineyards. However, with the expansion of other New York wineries, attention has been drawn away from Finger Lakes.
