Innovative migrates the existing Millennium system to a new server hosted in Fremont. • All hardware is owned, provided, and maintained by III. • The monthly fee includes all system operations such as backups and all necessary system support including OS and Release upgrades. • The fee also covers any hardware upgrades that might be required to support future releases and data storage requirements

III had copied system files, modules on to our new server before our data migration date • New Server IP address & New URL • Every Vendor for entries listed in WAM needed to be contacted • Redirect from oasys.lib.oxy.edu to occi.iii.com on our campus network - crucial for WAM • FTP issues The Process …

  6. Network of Networks • Internet uses Dynamic routing. • Bottle necks / traffic jams • Routers, ISPs, Other ISPs

Right after migration someone was able to spoof our server IP address in a script and attempted to systematically download AIP articles. • III’s remote data center in Fremont had a denial of service attack on its network - no servers were effected. • A Router at Innovative in Emeryville acted up.
