    3. The Consumer protection Act 1987 This Act protects the buyer from unsafe products. The Act is designed to protect the consumer from products that do not reach a reasonable level of safety.

    4. The Consumer protection Act 1987 Always have an up to date price list on display and products with the correct price including VAT attached to them Any special offers must be clearly displayed and worded.

    5. The Prices Act 1974 The price of products has to be displayed in order to prevent a false impression to the buyer.

    6. The Trades Descriptions Act 1968 &1972 Products should not be falsely or misleadingly described in relation to its quality, fitness, price or purpose, by advertisements, orally, displays or descriptions.

The Trades Descriptions Act 1968 &1972 It is a criminal offence for a trader to make false claims about goods or services offered for sale You must not say for example, that an anti-ageing cream will make you look ten years younger Or suggest that services, treatments or products may help the client to look younger It is also a requirement to label a product clearly, so the buyer can see where the product was made.

    8. The Resale Prices Act 1964 &1976 Manufacturers can supply a product at a recommended price, but the seller is not obliged to sell at the recommended price.

    9. The Sale and Supply of Goods Act 1994 You, the seller, must ensure that the goods you sell are: Of satisfactory quality Reasonably fit to do the job they claim to do.
