  3. The classification • The classification of my rock is Sedimentary.Sedimentary means composed of layers and layers of broken rock fragments,sea shell,and chemicals such as calcium carbonate.

  4. The color of my rock • My rock looks shiny. The color of my rock is shiny and pink, or white and shiny.

  5. How my rock is formed • My rock is composed of large,rounded pieces of rock. • Composed of layers and layers of broken rock fragments,sea shells,and chemicals such as calcium carbonate.

The first property of my mineral • The first property of my mineral means Streak:is the color of a mineral in powdered form.You can see a mineral’s streak by rubbing a sample across and unglazed ceramic plate and observing the powder left behind.Sometimes a mineral’s streak is very different from the color of the sample.

  9. The second property of my mineral • Hardness:is the resistance of a mineral to scratching.Geologists use the Moh’s hardness scale to seriate and compare mineral hardness.

  10. The third property of my rock • Luster is how a mineral reflects light or how it shines.Some ways to describe luster include glassy or vitreous, dull, and pearly.
