  4. Project Overview: Scope and Objectives Aim: to promote RES and to achievetheir cost-effectiveincorporation into the energy mix of Mediterranean countries by using optimum smart net metering. Objectives: • To promote initiatives forcost-efficient PV adoptionand usewithout need for FIT • To handle PV energy generationthrough smart management of supply & demand • Toachieveflowofknow-howstemmingfromthepilotinstallations • improveknowledgeandcompetencesontechnicalaspectsandpublicadministrationforadoptionof PV • helpshapefuturesmartenergymanagementsystemsinthelongterm • Tostrengthenpublicpolicyandstrategyfor PV adoption smartgrid & cities
