Give a Winnipeg example of both a primary use and secondary diversity. Chapter 9: Why are short blocks preferable to long blocks? Give a Winnipeg example of either short blocks or long ones.

When it is a good thing, why is that so? What’s the difference between density and overcrowding? Ch 12: Name a land use that Jacobs considers genuinely harmful. Why does Jacobs consider it a problem and what, if anything, does she think should be done about it? Ch 13: What is the self-destruction of diversity? Explain the problem and give a local example.
STILL MORE STUDY QUESTIONS Ch 14: What is a border vacuum? Explain the problem it poses and give a local example. Ch 15: If “unslumming” is our objective, what is the most important thing to do, and the most important thing to avoid? Explain briefly, and cite an example or two. Chapter 16: What’s the difference between gradual and cataclysmic money and why does it matter?
