Verb Review: • Verb: A word that describes an action. • Which word is an action verb? Jackson RAN to the store. Mary is watching her brother SWIM. Sam COOKED cookies for her soccer team. Jodi stole and ATE her sister’s cookie. Jodi STOLE and ATE her sister’s cookie.
Adding Endings • Have to be a ADJECTIVE • Adding –ing and -ed: -If there is a consonant, vowel, consonant (CVC), then you double the last letter -If there is an “e” at the end of the original word, then you drop the “e” • Adding –er and –est: - Just add the –er or –est to the end of the word
Past, Present, and Future • Past: -Add -ed to the end of the word OR (I it doesn’t make sense) -Switch the vowel to an “a” • Present: -If the word has no –ed at the end or will at the beginning of it, it’s present • Future: -Add “will” to the beginning of the present word.
