SubAir Unit location The first step to installing a SubAir System is to select a suitable location for the unit. The ideal location minimizes any disruption to the course both from a play and aesthetic standpoint. It also keeps cost to a minimum by reducing the amount of trenching for piping and electrical connections. Grade is the most important criteria. The unit should not be located in a low spot. This will help avoid water accumulation at the vault and insure proper separation of the air-water mix coming from the green.
The best location for the vault is at the high-end of the green. This causes the air to flow uphill to the SubAir unit and allows the water to gravity drain down to the outfall. Locate Cleanout
Once the cleanout port is located, the pipe network is laid out and trenched. After the trenches are opened, a hole for the vault must be excavated.
Six inch solid drain pipe is used to connect the SubAir vault to the green’s drainage network.
Air line to vault A Distributed Separator Assembly is connected to the green’s drainage network. This assembly separates the air from the water so that the air flows to the SubAir unit and the water drains to the outfall. Distributed Separator draining to Dual Valve

A Dual Valve Assembly is installed at the end of the outfall pipe before the pipe enters a drainage basin.
