  7. Over 30 professionals from Southern Arizona studied in the municipal schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy from May 3rd - May 9th. This is the Arizona Study Group, coordinated by the Tucson Children’s Project, an action advocacy group of Southern Arizona AEYC, led by Pauline Baker and Mimi Gray

  8. Five State Study Groups studied in Reggio Emilia, Italy. Many of our WSLN state friends (like our New Mexico friends!) were part of our shared journey.

  9. One of the winning pieces of artwork from the annual poster contest. This years theme was, “My wish for my community….”. The winner, Mitchell, said his wish for his community was “to have friends.”

  11. Jessica Brisson, President of SAzAEYC, with Dean Ron Marx from the University of Arizona, College of Education, who was honored with the Teacher Education award at the April 5th Awards Brunch.

The WOYC event this year combined our Annual Literacy Festival (where there are literacy booths from various organizations throughout Flagstaff, puppet shows, story telling, etc. ) with gross motor activities (including Nutrition education, obstacle course, bike rodeo, zip lines, wrestling instruction, dancing, etc). It was another successful event with approximately 200 participants. Northern Arizona University has a very active Student Chapter and 4 recent graduates were honored for their work with the NAzAEYC affiliate.

  18. Arizona says good-bye to one of our favorite early childhood champions, Tom Hunter. Tom passed away on June 20th. His music will live on forever…
