Voyager • The Voyager mission includes the twin spacecraft voyager 1 and 2. • They were launched by NASA in the summer of 1977. • The mission was to take advantage of a rare geometric formation of the outer planets. • Both Voyagers did a close up investigation on the great red spot on Jupiter the photos sent back showed that it is a large hurricane that has been raining for the past three centuries.

  3. Voyager continued • The voyager discovered that Neptune has a great dark spot. • The voyagers have been in space for over 30 years. • The voyagers were also the first to reach Neptune and Uranus. • Voyager discovered and witnessed 9 volcanic eruptions during the Jupiter flyby

  4. Summary of Voyager Voyager was launched in the summer of 1977 by NASA. The Mission included the Voyager 1 and 2.

  5. Mir • Mir was launched by the Russian space program February 20, 1986. • It was in orbit for over 10 years. • Mir was a research station in space that orbited the earth.
