  2. Who’s Online • Encourages ‘real time’ instant messaging between course members. • Excellent tool for student use in collaborative projects • Useful for online office hours • Each user can elect whether or not to be ‘visible’ to others

  3. Who’s Online • “My WebCT” – will list every course in which you are a member and show you the number of other members who are currently online (and who have elected to be ‘visible’)

  4. “Who’s Online – My WebCT Page Click on the course name and you will be taken to the “Who’s Online” page of that course.

  5. Who’s Online – Within a course … Click on “Who’s Online” in the course tools column

  6. Who’s Online Page – Making Yourself Visible/Invisible • Options: • Visible/Available • Visible/Unavailable • Invisible

  7. Send an Invitation to Chat • Select the person with whom you would like to chat. • Click on “Send Chat Invitation” 1 2

  8. Sending an Invitation Type your invitation Click on “Send Invitation”

  10. Invitees Screen - Invitation Information Accept/Decline Response Box

  11. Invitee “Accepts” The Chat dialogue box appears with the invitee’s comments

  12. Invitee “Accepts” To “Chat” … Type in the entry window and then press the ‘enter’ key or click on “Send”
