SBA Government Contracting Goals • Ensure that small businesses get long-lasting development opportunities and their fair share of government contracts by meeting or exceeding all government small business procurement goals • Eliminate fraud, waste, abuse, and mismanagement in all programs that Government Contracting executes and oversees • Invest in people, technology, and performance management throughout Government Contracting
Meeting Government Contracting Goals • Re-designed the Agency Scorecard • New metrics • ABCDF Grades • Wider distribution of final grades • Every program and all processes are being examined to minimize opportunities for waste, fraud, abuse and mismanagement • Training for employees, new computer systems and software
Presidential Memo to Heads of Executive Departments & Agencies • Establishes an Interagency Task Force on Federal Contracting Opportunities for Small Businesses (4/26/10) • Meet 23 % goal and “where small businesses have the capacity to do more, we should strive to exceed the statutory goals. While Chief Acquisition Officers and Senior Procurement Executives have many priorities, small business contracting should always be a high priority in the procurement process.”
Presidential Memo to Heads of Executive Departments & Agencies • Establishes an Interagency Task Force on federal Contracting Opportunities for Small Businesses • Task Force Co-Chairs: Secretary of Commerce, Director of OMB and SBA Administrator • Members: 18 Department and Agency heads, Chair of the Council on Economic Advisors and whomever else the President may designate • Report to the President in 120 days (8/24/10)
