  13. MathML • MathML makes mathematical equations accessible to everyone by eliminating the ambiguity of a verbal description of a picture. There are many tools available to support MathML creation. • Amnet can convert your equations to MathML. WCAG 2.1 Standards • WCAG 2.1 standard consists of twelve guidelines, each with three checkpoint levels for individual success criteria for web developers to meet: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. • IDPF produces guidelines to help publishers understand and create accessible content. • Amnet combines the IDPF guidelines and WCAG 2.1 Level A & AA guidelines, which are applicable for ePub publication, to produce accessible ePub output that will adhere to both IDPF and WCAG 2.1 standards.

Subtitles and Closed Captions • Subtitles • Subtitles are the written form of dialogue in a video; they generally display only what is spoken by a character. • This assists the listener to follow the context irrespective of the language. • They are intended for listeners who are able to hear but prefer to have the dialogue of the narration displayed. • Closed Captions • Closed captions are an extension of subtitles and usually contain descriptions of important non-dialogue audio, such as "(sighs)" or "(door creaks)" or lyrics. • This is specifically intended for people who are deaf or hard of hearing. • They are intended for users with hearing disabilities to help them fully understand the narration.
