Chief Sealth PTSA – 2010-11 Goals • Increased family involvement and participation in PTSA and school events • Strong relationships with and support of CSIHS staff, teachers, and other school programs and organizations • Contribution to the continued building of a positive image of CSIHS within the West Seattle community Key Strategies • Plan and hold interesting, inviting, & accessible general meetings • Develop sustainable fundraising processes • Develop and maintain a diverse and enthusiastic volunteer base • Actively work with FEAT (Family Engagement Action Team) to build family engagement and involvement at Sealth • Provide consistent and timely PTSA-related communication • Support teachers, staff, and school activities • Connect with West Seattle community and continue building CSIHS’s positive image
PTSA ACCOMPLISHMENTS Membership Goal: 250 Achieved: 256 Annual Fund Goal (budgeted): $3,000 Revised Goal: $5,000; Achieved: $3,857 General Meeting Attendance Averaged 40 attendees (range 20-65) Students attended and/or presented at all meetings

Accomplishments & Activities, continued Family Connection & Community Events: • Held six general meetings • Hosted a “Paying for College” workshop, over 80 participants attended! • Held 2nd Annual Seahawk Spirit Dinner & Auction, raised over $25,000 • Planned and executed Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week • Created “Backpack Challenge” to encourage donations of backpacks for needy students • Had a presence at the fall student orientation days • Participated in the CSIHS Ribbon Cutting Ceremony; hosted a special preview for CSIHS families at the Grand Opening Celebration • Had a booth at the West Seattle Gathering of Neighbors • Provided food and raffle for Multi-Cultural Night • Made a donation to support Seattle Special Ed PTSA ($250) • Published first PTSA Newsletter, mailed to families and posted on website • Continually updated website and sent information via email to Google Group list • Implemented new fundraising software program; assisted several CS groups in using it Staff Partnerships: • Worked with Counseling staff and other volunteers to develop a College/Work-Ready Program • Made presentations at the August staff retreat & fall/spring staff meetings • Held regular “check-in” meetings with Mr. Boyd
