The Aztecs had a relatively small country until they started conquering like crazy. The Aztecs lived in the Valley of Mexico. The valley is about 7 000 feet above sea level and surrounded by tall mountains on all sides except the Northern. The Aztecs supply of water came from the near by mountains. The water flew down and collected in lakes around Tenochtitlan and close cities. The lakes were all connected. The high altitude of the Aztec mainland made it surprisingly cool. The average was around 12 degrees Centigrade (Celsius)(C). This made there area only good for limited amounts of crops and because there was also frost sometimes, the crops could easily die. So much for the warm Aztec pictures. The rainy season the Aztecs experienced lasted from May to October. The rainfall amount was about 450mm in the north and up to 1 000mm in the south. Actual Climate
The main contribution of the Aztec rule was a system of communications between the conquered cities. In Mesoamerica, without draft animals for transport (nor, as a result, wheeled vehicles), the roads were designed for travel on foot. Usually these roads were maintained through tribute, and travelers had places to rest and eat and even latrines to use at regular intervals, roughly every 10 to 15 kilometres (6 to 9 mi). Couriers were constantly travelling along those ways, keeping the Aztecs informed of events, and helping to monitor the integrity of the roads. Transportation
In Aztec culture, trade was an important part of life. Yet, it was conducted somewhat differently than the "traditional" way. For one, the Aztecs had no metal money. They did have a currency, however. Cacao beans were treated as a precious substance by the Aztecs, who used them to make chocolate. This currency was most often used in local markets, at which one could buy tools, clothes, and—for a hefty price jewelry. Another use of this currency was by caravans of merchants that traveled south towards the region that is now Guatemala, Belize, and Honduras. These merchants traded rare items such as jewellery for other rare items such as rubber, cotton, and products made from animals (like feathers of tropical birds and jaguar skins). Trade
Anyone who belonged to the Empire was considered prosperous. They were the important people with high paying jobs. Roman civilization shifted from a monarchy to an aristocratic republic to an increasingly autocratic empire. I think that Romans adapted better and as time progressed went with time and changed while Aztecs were more old fashioned and stuck to having the same ruling system for a long time. Aztec and Ancient Rome Prosperity
Aztecs traded among themselves because their transportation wasn’t great. They traveled on foot or canoe if possibly. If they did want to trade they would walk, they used their slaves to carry everything. When they traded they didn’t go very far unless it was able to be reached by canoe. Aztec Trade
Trade helps countries concentrate on their strengths and helps provide goods at lower costs than they would be able to produce themselves. Items such as tropical foods such as bananas, pineapples, sugar, tea and coffee are obvious examples. Canada could either not produce those items or only at prohibitive costs. Canada is one of the world's most important suppliers of agricultural products, with the Canadian Prairies one of the most important suppliers of wheat, canola, and other grains. Canada is the world's largest producer of zinc and uranium and a world leader in many other natural resources such as gold, nickel, aluminum, and lead. Canada usually uses big boats to transport everything. Canada’s Trade
Again, trade helps countries concentrate on their strengths and helps provide goods at lower costs than they would be able to produce themselves. You may have items to trade but you can’t always bring them over because of their sizes. Without boats we wouldn’t be able to trade crude oil. Big question
