Alabot in all the travels - Suburban/International Travel –Some Facts • Suburban travel is a complicated system with lots of interchanges and might involve multiple transport system like A-B metro; B-C Bus; C-D Monorail; Intercity/National/International travels like Airport etc. • Most big cities in the world have their own suburban travel systems like tubes, monorails etc. • Stations especially the Metro Rail stations are becoming major centers for commerce like malls/office etc built on/near these stations. • Most cities have migrant population, business travelers, daily commuters, tourists from other states. • Worldwide the ticketing system is based on digitized technology such as smartcard etc.

  5. Use Cases • Daily Commuters : There are around 3-6 million daily commuters which touches all the cities. These are mostly office goers and need the best combination of transport to minimize time spent in travel and synchronize travel time with their other activities. • User : is the next train from Ealing to Padington a fast or a slow train? • Alabot : The next train is a Fast Train and is on time and will be arriving on platform 2 at 8:45 am • The user does not have to reach the station to get this information. He / She can chat with Alabot from anywhere.

  6. Use Cases • Time Sensitive Travelers :These are basically event based travelers. • User : Can you book a cab at 11 am tomorrow when I reach place ‘Y’? • Alabot : Ok. Booked Cab No. LN 1613 at 11 am for tomorrow. • User : Can you buy me an online ticket to “A’ for next week on 26th Mar08. • Alabot : Your online ticket has been booked. See the details below. • User : Can you renew my pass for next month. My Pass No. is 5648AS0. • Alabot : Your pass has been renewed with next renewal date 8th Apr08.

Use Cases - continued • Tourists: Tourists always want to cover all the famous destinations and locations for sight seeing, travel routes, mode of travel, place to live which is affordable to them, eating joints, etc. • User : Which are the good places to visit around? • Alabot : ‘X’, ‘Y’, ‘Z’. • User : How far is place ‘A’ from here? • Alabot : around 8 kms. • User : What are the options of commuting ? • Alabot : You can travel by Bus, metro rail or private taxi hire. • User : How often are the bus and train services available? • Alabot : The bus service is available after every 15 minutes and train every 2 minutes. • User : When is the last train from place ‘X’ to ‘Y’? • Alabot : 11:30 pm sharp. • User : How much train takes to reach place ‘G’. • Alabot : 45 minutes.

Use Cases • Business Travelers: A businessman would always be worried about be on time at every business conference/meetings/events and of course on time delivery/shipment of his products including other aspects as well. • User : I have to reach place ‘X’ by 2 pm today. Which train/flight can I catch ? • Alabot : you may take train from station ‘A’ at 1:15 pm . No flights are available at the moment for the destination ‘X’. • User : I need to travel for 5 weeks continuously to place ‘X’. What is the economic way for traveling on this route for 5 weeks pls. • Alabot: Buy the Oyster Card – available at all ticket counters. I would suggest you buy the 45 gbp one since it covers all the zones.

  9. Our Solution People visiting/traveling to some place face many issues like language, time to acclimatize, non availability of staff and reference material and no end-to-end solution. People who are traveling also use secondary services like taxis, hotels in the vicinity, need to buy to tickets, buy event tickets etc. Alabot can create an ecosystem which understands any language, provides the maps, printed material , help counters, buys your tickets, books a cab for the user and much more. It is an interactive buddy who will always be with the user on the mobile / IM or the Web. Users can opt in to get Alerts in case of calamities like flooding, strikes, signal failures, terrorist attacks. Commuters can be alerted so that they can be diverted to alternate means of traveling to avoid chaos, time and causalities etc.
