  2. What is a affix? An affix is a a prefix or suffix, that can be attached to a base, stem, or root word. Affixes include; prefixes suffixes

  3. What is a root word? A root word is a word that has a prefix, suffix, or both added to it. The root word is the word withoutany added parts. For example: singing sing the root word is _______ The root word can also be called the stem or the base word.

  4. What is a prefix? A prefix is a word part that is added before the root or stem or base word. Examples of prefixes mis + lay = mislay un + kind = unkind re + act = react pre + fix = prefix

  5. What is a suffix? A suffix is a word part that is added after the root or stem or base word. Examples of suffixes happy + ness = happiness danger + ous = dangerous reason + able = reasonable hope + less = hopeless care + full = careful just + ify = justify
