  2. Brief History Hosting fashion week in New York dates back to 1943. During World War 2, American fashion buyer and press weren’t able to travel to Paris to see the latest fashion shows, so a fashion insider in the U.S. organized a similar event for American designers to show their lines.

  3. When it takes Place. Twice a year. The Fashion Week fall shows are held the preceding winter (February). The spring shows are held the preceding late summer (September).
