  2. History • Setup around July 2009 • Aims were to provide • Support for locums/salaried Drs • To share news on locum posts • Setup study groups • Forward news items from different sources • To be a ‘voice’ for sessional GPs • Be involved with organsiations (i.e. LMC, RCGP)

  3. Organisation • Run mainly by Robin Teoh, Hannah Welsh and Myself • Assistance from a number of others • Voluntary and unpaid • Communication through email and website

  4. Success • Regular emails – work and info • Website • Name recognition by practices • CCG attention • Involvement with the LMC

  5. Problems/Issues • Time • Lack of feedback • No mandate • Continuity / Succession

  6. Vision • To create a self-funding member organisation which informs, supports and assists Sessional GPs in the Bath/Wilts area • Focus on 3 areas

  7. Vision 1. Portal for work • Forward locum requests and job adverts to our members in a timely fashion • Information sent out as a weekly email and posted on the website • Consider charging for this service

  8. Vision 2. Political voice • Sulisdoc becomes a ‘virtual practice’ • Consider a constitution • Can feedback sessional Dr concerns/issues to other groups (i.e. PCPG, CCG, practices) • To be involved in the restructuring of primary care (less money, practice mergers etc.)

  9. Vision 3. Community • Support for GPs • Social events • Advice on issues • Network for study groups / significant event discussion

  10. Next Steps • More people – Sulisdoc Committee • Regular meetings - ?monthly (?pub) • Elections (mandate) • Not-for profit organisation • Membership fees
