  2. Parade of Nations Students, Parents, Grandparents, and Teachers dress up in traditional clothes of their native country. They may wave flags too as they parade through the school.

  4. Perfomers Students in different grade levels perform dances native to different countries. There are also professional performers. This is always a crowd pleaser. Indian Fusion Dancers and African storyteller Mariachi Band Greek Dancers Ole!

  5. Country Booths Students have the opportunity to travel and visit different countries by “flying” to different booths. Parents have the opportunity to teach others about their country. Russia Booth Belgium Booth

  8. World Cafe Students experience eating food from 2 countries in a cafe like setting. Parents prepare samples of food for kids to try. Russia Booth Tea and Biscuits from England

  9. World Cafe Spring Rolls and Noodles from Vietnam. Students are trying to eat with chopsticks.

  10. Multicultural Crafts and Interactive Stations Students make crafts that represent different countries. They also are exposed to traditional experiences from different countries. Writing wishes at the Japanese Wishing Tree Mehendi Hand Painting

  13. How can I be a part of World Culture Day? Sign Up to Volunteer for Norton World Culture Day Morning, Afternoon or All Day positions are available! Anyone volunteering all day will be served a complimentary catered lunch! If interested, please contact Laura De La Borda @ laura.delaborda@allenisd.org or let your child’s teacher know. DUE DATE FOR VOLUNTEER SIGN UPS is January 25th . Grandparents welcome! 1.Interactive Stations:Volunteers will help teach students various pre-prepared international games and simulations. 2.World Café:Volunteers will be “waiters” and “waitresses” serving already prepared food to students in café-style setting. 3.Multicultural ART Booth:Volunteers will help students create international crafts. Supplies, directions, and a sample will be provided. 4At-Home volunteers:They will help cut out materials for the crafts. 5.Decorating Committee:Volunteers will help transform the Science Lab into the World Café. It will be during the school day the week of Feb. 4. 6.Host a Country Booth:Volunteers create an informative display of items and information about a country. Students will visit your booth with passports. You are invited to march in our Parade of Nations with your native clothing. This is an all-day commitment. 7.Cater the World Café: Volunteers will help coordinate/cook small sampling of food from their native country to share with students in each grade level throughout the day.
