  2. What is it? Stretch marks (striae) are stripe-like skin marks . Usually a cosmetic problem; however, if severe, they may tear and ulcerate when an accident or excessive stretching occurs.

  3. Why do they appear? They develop as a result of rapid weight gain or loss, when skin is stretched. Can also be a result of some diseases. affect adolescents, pregnant women, and patients with excessive adrenal cortical activity.
