  3. SPINNERETS FOR WET SPINNING • The spinneret is immersed in tanks containing the solvent into which the filaments are extruded. Acrylic, vinyl, rayon are produced by this method. Furthermore, Carbon Fiber can also be produced by this process. Carbon Fiber is a fibrous carbon material and can be classified into PAN-based, pitch-based and rayon-based. Among them, PAN-based carbon fiber is in the largest production and best used in volume. PAN type carbon fiber, which makes up 90% of the total market, is produced by carbonization of PAN precursor (PAN: Polyacrylonitrile) and has high tensile strength and high elastic modulus. Actually, Carbon Fiber can be produced by both wet and dry-wet spinning methods. Wet spinning is more common. The spinneret is submerged in a chemical bath and when the filaments emerge, they precipitate from solution and solidify. In comparison with dry-wet spinning, the spinnerets used usually have more holes.

  4. Material for spinneret • Material:Stainless steel, tantalum, Gold-Platinum alloy • Number of holes:180000, etc. Shape:Round (cup), Rectangular, Ring-shaped, etc. • Products:Rayon, Carbon Fiber, Acrylic, Aramid, Vinylon ,etc

  5. Round hole Non- round hole

  6. SPINNERETS FOR DRY SPINNING • In dry spinning, the fiber-forming substance is melted for extrusion through the spinneret. • Solidification is then achieved by evaporating the solvent in a stream of air or inert gas. • Acetate, acrylic and spandex can be produced by this method

  7. Spinneret for dry spinning • Material:Stainless steel, tantalum • Number of holes:1300, etc. • Shape:Round (cup), Rectangular, Ring-shaped, etc • Products:Acrylic, Acetate, Triacetate ,etc • Thickness:up to 2.5mm

  8. SPINNERETS FOR DRY-WET SPINNING • Material:Stainless steel • No. of holes:12000, etc Shape:Round (cup), Rectangular, etc • Products:Aramid, Carbon Fiber ,etc

  9. SPINNERETS FOR MELT SPINNING • Shaped fibers can be made by using spinnerets with non-round holes.
