PASS-NET: Establishment of a Co-operation Network of Passive House Promoters

This project aims to promote and diffuse the Passive House standard and technology in Europe, with a focus on new member states. The project includes awareness raising, training programs, and the development of a European best-practice database. The goal is to achieve high energy and CO2 savings in buildings and to support the targets of the Kyoto Protocol.

  6. Good experiences made with Passive House standard in some countries like Austria, Germany, Belgium, Sweden Spread Passive House technology across Europe, especially in new member countries Construction of new buildings as well as renovation of social buildings Focus on New EU-Member States

Awareness Raising • Increased Awareness from • Specialists (architects, planners, professionals, investors, building industry) • Public authorities (civil servants, politicians) • General public (especially potential customers) • They will be addressed at a personal level and involved in a constant dialogue with national members of the consortium • Presentations at events, fairs, conferences • International Passive House Days

Professional Training Programmes • Information campaign targeted to the professionals in the building sector: • Provide comprehensive information (seminars, guidelines, publications,…) • Sensitise building industry to take up principles of sustainable construction methods • Passive House seminar materials (PP-sheets) provided as “freeware” on http://www.pass-net.net/training/index.htmWithin 12 months 200 organisations have used materials.  high level of knowledge secures successful implementation

Public Authorities • Analysis of the situation (subsidy schemes, regulations, land-use plans) • Increase of the experience with the Passive House concept • Support authorities to adapt regulations and the financial framework • National Lobbying Plans to create favorable market conditions • Stakeholder seminar for public authorities about Passive House

European Best-Practice Database • Information platform • Source to get in touch with planners, architects and building owner (excursions, International Passive House Days, reference projects) • Collection of best practice examples and pilot projects from participating countries • Provision of information in national language of the project country and in English • Technical data, photo documentation, detailed fact sheets of some shining examples

Project result Project result are published on the website www.pass-net.net Main results: • Documentation of current situation of Passive House standard • Fact sheets of national Passive House examples • Concept for a 2-days Passive House seminar (basic information) and seminar materials as freeware for download from the website • Organisation of International Passive House Days in all PASS-NET countries • European Passive House Database, 2.000 buildingsin 14 languages
