Advanced Manufacturing Sector • DSN, Advanced ManufacturingDirector, Center for Applied Competitive Technologies Conducting core education and training to support advanced manufacturing and the deployment of new technologies: CNC Machining, Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Manufacturing, Project and Inventory Management, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances. Credit and not-for-credit / workforce development & industry-recognized credentials. Providing leadership and support for manufacturing related career pathway development - from middle school to high school to college level programs - region-wide. Quarterly Milestones • 16th CNC Cohort trained, graduated, and interviewed 12 trainees, with 3,240 contact training hours accomplished • 10 workforce training courses completed involving 7 companies, 157 employees, and 4,960 contact hours of training • Certifications awarded to trainees & students – 12 National Career Readiness Certificates (NCRC), 20 American Welding Society, 15 Lean Six Sigma, and numerous APICS certifications • 3 Manufacturing Technology credit courses completed comprised of 44 students and 3,960 contact training hours • Various Professional Development workshops (e.g. CPA, 3D Printing); WDB & WEC meetings; and State Sector forums California Community Colleges – Chancellor’s Office | 113 Colleges | 72 Districts | 2.6 Million Students

Agriculture, Water & Environmental Technologies Sponsored the Second Annual Santa Barbara County Spray Safe Event on Tuesday March 7th at the Santa Maria Fairparkin conjunction with the Santa Barbara County Agriculture Commissioners Office, the Santa Barbara County Farm Bureau, and the California Strawberry Commission. Over 250 incumbent workers received training and education on the safe application and handling of agriculture chemicals in both English and Spanish. Applicators checklists were provided to all participants in both languages for use in the field. Speakers and presenters included: Brian Leahy - Director, California Department of Pesticide Regulation Cathy Fisher – Santa Barbara County Agriculture Commissioner Kevin Merrill – Santa Barbara County Farm Bureau Harvard Fong – California Department of Pesticide Regulation Karen Ross – California Secretary of Agriculture California Community Colleges – Chancellor’s Office | 113 Colleges | 72 Districts | 2.6 Million Students

Regional Summit: Global Manufacturing for StartupsSeptember: Convening SCCRC small business owners, industry partners, educators, career counselors to help entrepreneurs navigate the challenge of manufacturing prototypes and products.
