  1. GOM3: A Look Ahead Tony Dupont Earth Science Associates Long Beach, CA

  2. Shorter Term

  3. ArcGIS 10.2 • ArcGIS 10.2 now supported • 10.0 and 10.1 still supported • ArcGIS 9.3/9.3.1… • Asked to extend support • Official support ends Feb. 15, 2014 • Break up with 9x on Valentine’s Day Seriously?

  4. ArcGIS Toolbar • Complete the thematic integration of Partners’ data • Changes to load data • Global loader (not in limbo) • Transition to dockable window • Custom queries on load • E.g., Load all exploratory wells in water depths greater than 500 ft, spud after Jan. 1, 2006

  5. ESA Desktop Program • New installation coming • Back on track • ArcGIS installation not required • Primary purpose is to get to GOMsmart without needing to remember the password

  6. Data • Two directions: • Derivative data • Paleo surfaces (similar to pore pressure) • Normalized bidding maps • Internal maintenance, rather than full BOEM reloads • Situations where geographic data from BOEM doesn’t keep up (leases, units)

  7. Data • Data Creation • Processes to flag new data for investigation • Long-term plans would include ability to define area-of-interest for alerts • Probably based on designated blocks • Possibly limited to status changes or similar values

  8. Longer Term • Some ideas are a little rougher…

  9. Data Transition • Geodatabase / Update Process • Modifications in progress • Plan is still Windows services to update local GIS data every night • Working back to temporal layers • Lease data, storms

  10. Pore Pressure at Single Point • Built from Pore Pressure study and raster layers • Tool to click on a map • Web service to generate graph • Integrate in both ArcMap and GOMsmart

  11. Pore Pressure at Single Point

  12. GOMsmartNew Design • Based on additions to the mobile design • More intuitive, more flexible • Mockups

  17. GOMsmartAdditions • News feed • Ability to define alerts… • Name Lookup • List of discovery/prospect nicknames • Intelligent searching • Primarily searching for IDs (API Number, OCS Number, etc.) • Add other web services

  18. Beta Testing Here’s what to look for… Is it intuitive? Can you get around easily? Does the summary block have most important data? Are there other data you’d like to see displayed? How does it look on your device? What other features would you like to see on GOMsmart Mobile?
