"Decades back, his father had relocated to sunny Sarasota from the Redwoods of Northern California. During his visit to Sarasota, Mike's father rented him a bungalow on Siesta Beach. After three days of his ten day vacation, the stunning sugar white quartz sand of Siesta Key had won him over. Mike sent for his things. There was a Kodak store in Siesta Village, and in the display case, was one of the most beautiful things Mike had ever seen. A 35mm Nikon F. Mike states "I must have looked like Ralpfie in "A Christmas Story" as he gawked at the infamous Red Ryder B.B. gun. I had to have it! Who needs to eat or pay rent when there is a Nikon to be had. Mike spent a few semesters at Western Kentucky University studying photography and film before joining his family in the sports bar business. But photography has always been Mike's first love, and Siesta Beach and Sarasota his favorites for Landscapes.
