PowerWorld Branch Comparison Tool for Engineers

This tool compares filtered branch sets from two PowerWorld cases, identifies unmatched branches, and matches branches with different ratings or impedances. It can be re-run at any step without redoing import steps unless cases are modified.

  2. Basics • Compares filtered branch sets from two PowerWorld cases • Identifies unmatched branches • Matched branches with different ratings or impedances • Can re-run at any step • No need to redo import steps unless the cases are modified

Steps 1-5 • Step 1 • Load “Export PW linedata.aux” in reference case • Select created .csv file in Access • Step 2 • Load “Export PW linedata.aux” in comparison case (i.e. case to compare against the reference case) • Select created .csv file in Access • Step 4 • View two access tables to see unmatched branches • Step 5 • Use Excel to identify rating or impedance differences • Step 6 • Use exported and PowerWorld formatted excel spreadsheet to import into PowerWorld case
