Critical Language Awards • Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program offers intensive summer language institutes overseas in thirteen critical need foreign languages • Arabic • Persian • Azerbaijani • Bangla/Bengali • Hindi • Indonesian • Korean • Punjabi • Turkish • Urdu • Chinese • Japanese • Russian • Award: fully-funded group-based intensive language instruction for 7-10 weeks for U.S. graduate students • Deadline:Nov. 15. 2012 • http://www.clscholarship.org/

  9. James Madison • For students pursuing M.A., M.A.T., M.Ed.   10. Javits Scholarship • Not funded this year. National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowships • Award: $30,000 for three years and some additional resources, $10,500 cost-of-education allowance, one-time international research travel allowance • Applicant Requirement: • U.S. citizen, national or resident • Graduating seniors or first year graduate students • Pursuing a Ph.D. in science, mathematics, or engineering • Deadlines vary: all are in early November. • http://www.nsfgrfp.org
