  2. What is the difference between Mexican and Spanish food? Spain • Eggplant, potatoes, and olive oil are common ingredients used in Spain. • When sharing a dish. In Spain you would get one dish for sharing instead of just one dish per person. (for appetizers) • In Spain, food is normally eaten with forks, spoons, and knives.

Mexico • Chili Peppers are common spices used in Mexico • Unlike Spain, Mexican food is commonly spicy • Mexican dishes are normally made for one person each in sharing, instead of having just one dish that for sharing. (for appetizers) • Mexican food is commonly made to be eaten with hands

  4. What time do people eat dinner in Spain? Difference to the United states? • Breakfast: In Spain they have coffee with milk and commonly toast with jam or sweet rolls with jam • Snacks: They eat tapas. Tapas has become so popular to them that they made it a verb (Vamosa tapear) • Lunch: Biggest meal of the day, 2 to 4:30. It’s a tradition for lunch break to be several hours long. In order to take naps and regain energy for work. It’s a 2 to 3 hour break. Consist of soup, fruit, vegetable, and ice cream or flan (this tradition has slowly been changing, because of their lifestyle) • Snack after Lunch: Usually eaten from 4:30 to 5. • Dinner: Small meal eaten at 9 to midnight. Consist of lamb, chicken, fried potatoes, and rice covered in tomatoes sauce and topped with fried eggs. They also have flan and fruit for dessert.

  5. Continues • In Spain, in between meals they walk or some kind of exercise to stay in shape. • In the United States. We don’t exercise enough, nor maintain a proper diet. We eat at unusual times and sometimes skip meals. • Spain eats more than us, but they tend to stay in better shape.

  6. Galicia • Known for farming and fishing. • Their food consist of seafood and vegetables • Octopus is popular • Empanada Gallega is a popular pie they have. It contains a mixture of seafood, meat, and vegetables. • Lacón con Grelos is very popular. It’s the front legs of a pig. Its boiled.

  9. 2meats, 2 seafood, 2salads • Spanish seafood salad- crab, boiled octopus, vinegar, and vegetable/ Cucumber Salad- cucumbers, tomatoes, and olive oil • el cordero- Lamb/ el tocino- bacon • los mariscos- Shellfish/ la langosta- Lobster
