PETER BARRON STARK. • He is specialized in leadership and management training in PBS & association. • He has 10 yrs experience in his own commercial printing company and was able to use this supervisory skills on the employees. • Today, his principle of his own management consulting firm , and doing his business with organisation throughout United States and abroad. • He use to present over 250 seminars, speech, and workshops annually. • As an instructor in San Diego States University, he also shares his principles with students.

  4. JANE FLAHERTY • A senior consultant with PBS & Association. • She has 25 yrs experience in designing and implementing organizational intervention with public and private sector. • She serves on the faculty at San Diego State University.

Tips for good Communication. • Think before you say it. • Speak clearly and concisely. • Develop an attitude of wanting to listen. • Show the speaker that you are listening by maintaining eye contact. • Don’t shot the messenger. Encourage or reward people who have given there view points. • Keep your boss informed.

COACHING TO IMPROVE PERFORMANCE. “ The conventional definition of management is getting workdone through people, but real management is developing people through work. “ • Preparing for coaching discussion: • What is the problem? • What is the cause of the problem? • Is the employee capable? • Does the employee know right from wrong? • Suggestion for dealing with performing problems: • Take immediate action. • Give feedback privately. • Remain calm. • Be consistent. • Remain positive.

CREATING AND MOTIVATING ENVIRONMENT. “ What I do best is share my enthusiasm ” Steps to create a motivational environment. • Describe the goal or target behaviour • Check the technical skill level. • Select a meaningful reward. • Provide positive reinforcement. • Administer immediate rewards. • Use intermittent reinforcement.

Ensuring High Motivation • Set high expectation with clear defined objectives. • Reward people for meeting high expectation. • Praise and recognize your expectation often. • Explain the ‘Big Picture’. • Find out the needs and goals of your employees. • Develop your self-esteem and esteem the others. • Get other involved in the goal-setting. • Develop a positive mental attitude.
