Family and Personal Relationships • Listening is the best way to show respect. • The goal is not so much to be loved, as it is to love. • By listening, do not prepare your defense. • What is the Motive behind our interaction with others? • “My idea is better than your idea.” • Think of a time where you used defense rather than listening. How could you have improved this situation?

  4. Love is Spelled T-I-M-E • First: Remember that one of the most important things you can do for someone is listen. • Second: We cannot be right all the time. • Third: Asking for forgiveness is essential! • Fourth: You cannot have relationships without time.

  7. Group Activity • In your group, decide what your family roles are. • What is expected of each person? • What do you expect from yourself? • How would you improve the quality of the group?

  8. Student Activity • What can you do personally in your family to improve the quality of the relationships? • How is listening a way to show respect? • Can you think of a time when your interaction with someone was driven by a motive? • Why is it important to ask for forgiveness? • What does T-I-M-E have to do with improving the quality of your relationships?

  9. Conclusion • What have you learned? • How will this help you in your future? • Is there anything else you wanted to learn?
