  1. Welcome to MEDLIFE OSU! September 17th Meeting

  2. Bernie’s Fundraiser • THANK YOU for a successful fundraiser at Bernie’s! • We raised $217 for the school in Guamote, Ecuador • Every dollar helps, we will have more fundraisers in the future

  3. Red Cross Blood Drive • The Blood drive was a HUGE success • We were able to fill every bag!! • Thank you to all the volunteers who came out • We will have more volunteer opportunities in the future!

  4. MEDLIFE Mission • Provide medicine to the underprivileged and poor • Aim to educate people on living healthy lifestyles and learning how to combat common illnesses • Help develop sustainable structures such as staircases, bathrooms, and schools

  7. Fundraising Committees • What you’ll do • Help with bake sales • Plan Spring 5K • Insomnia Cookie/Coldstone fundraisers • Brainstorming other ways to raise money

  8. Recruitment Committee • What you’ll do • Send out emails to advisors, professors, etc. • Speak in classes about MEDLIFE • Design promotional materials to pass out • Chapter walks to inform the Greek community about our trip/club

  9. Kaplan Partnership • Kaplan has offered a 10% discount for members interested in classes above $1,100 • GRE, GMAT, LSAT, MCAT, DAT, OAT, PCAT • We will host events with Kaplan • Suture clinic, MCAT 2015 Info session, Med Student Panel

  10. Membership Fees • $10 membership fees • Speakers at events • Food at meetings • Social events • Kaplan discounts • Involvement in volunteer opportunities

  11. Toledo to Columbus Run for ALS Awareness • Robin was diagnosed with ALS on Sept. 18th of 2009 • Running past Ohio Union at 9AM this Thursday • People are meeting around 8:15AM at union

Trip Details • Total Cost: ~$2,200- $2,800 • $755 MEDLIFE application fee (covers your breakfast, lunch, dinner, in-country transportation, 7-day hostel stay, and tourism), ~$1,300 airfare, $37 OSU supplemental health insurance, ~200 spending money, immunizations, bug spray/ sunscreen • If you’re interested in attending the trip, please sign the interest sheet up front or fill out the google form sent out in MEDLIFE emails • Trip specific questions?
