The Underinsured Issue is Severe • Many employees have less than optimal life insurance coverage and do not recognize it • Employees say they value group life insurance, but a significant number of them are not taking action • Nearly half of employees are underinsured** The underinsured issue is just as severe – if not worse - than it was six years ago when MetLife last studied this issue ** “Underinsured” is defined as having life insurance coverage that is equal to or less than three times annual household income.
