ArceArce is a small country near Roma and Arpino where Ciceronewas born.It has an attractive medieval aspect with steep narrow streets. In the past time It was a strategically important town, straddling the border of the Papal States and the kingdom of Naples.Nowdays the village is 6000 people.
The “Instituto Comprensivo” of ArceFounded in the school year 2000/2001, the “Instituto Comprensivo” of Arce is a “Scuola Secondaria” First Grade that counts approximately 700 students. The classes that partecipate at the project are: lllA & lllB

Natural Environment Life on the Earth is ensured by a natural equilibrium and, when we violate this equilibrium with our behaviour, we often cause fatal damages for our future.
Pollution The great growth in population, the atmosphere’s pollution, the greater needs of resources, can make the Earth like a desert and provoke over all a large destruction of species in flora and fauna.
For some time Italy began to take measures for the defence of the environment thanks to the stimulating initiatives of environmental groups and we can see some small results with the creation of national parks and protected zones.
Introduction, legislative and integration norms and associations for the safeguard of the environment Art. 9th: definition The Republic promotes the cultural development and scientific and technical research. It defends the natural landscape and historical heritage of the Nation. The human challenge for the next years is to save the natural landscape from the destruction of man’s hands. Overall we must preserve Earth from pollution regarding the biosphere, urban origin, agricultural origin, but we must also consider the impoverishment of water reserves. In fact, many Countries lack water for some needs. The Earth is an enormous Home in which all people live and all people must defend from the power of destruction helping the same Nature for example putting rubbish in appropriate containers.
The Natural Reserve of the ancient city of Fregellae and Fabrateria Nova and Lake S. Giovanni Incarico The Natural Reserve of the ancient city of Fregellae and Fabrateria Nova and Lake S.Giovanni Incarico covers about 715 hectares and involves the municipalities of Arce, Ceprano, Falvaterra, S.Giovanni Incarico. It consists of a lake and two archeological cities, Fregellae (328 BC) and Fabrateria Nova (124 BC) It is an artificial lake created by a dam on the river Liri and it is at the confluent of two rivers: Sacco and Liri . The dam is designed to produce electricity. The marsh environment that indirectly has come to create a wildlife is of considerable interest, in a province rich in water but poor in humid environments of natural origin. The relative stability of the water level allows for the development of a varied and florid vegetation. The first is the “cannuccia palustre” (phragmites australis), mingled with “la tifa or lisca maggiore” (typha latifolia) and with “giaggiolo d’acqua” or “ water iris” (iris pseudacorus). Then we have poplars, willows and “l’ontano comune” (alnus glutinosa). In other parts of the drained area oak (quercus robur) and especially the invasive locust (robinia pseudoacacia).

The pollution The pollution of the biosphere Pollution is the introduction of chemical or biological substances or of physical factors like heat, noise, radiations etc, in the surrounding environment to provoke degrade in the same environment. The pollution can interest every part of the biosphere: the earth, the air, the water. The importance of water Water is fundamental for life and it is the principal component of the living subject in which develops the main biochemical proceedings. It concerns a precious good an irreplaceable reservoir of resources, whose consumption continually increases especially in the industrialized countries. Despite this, there is always an inconsiderate use; in fact, by the continuous wastes and by the emission of polluting substances, the natural reserves of drinkable water will be exhausted. Different types of pollution: • Pollution of urban origin • Pollution of agricultural origin • Pollution of the sea • Pollution of industrial origin
An example of used, purified and recycled water: The Paper Mill Burgo The Burgo group (Cartiera Of the Sun) with headquarters in Sora in the province of Frosinone is the main producer of graphical papers and works in the field of distribution of papers, energy, system, fibrous raw materials, collection, selection, treatment of the paper and forest product management. Burgo produces a kind of paper called “patinata” that is without wood and of high quality using only pure , high quality cellulose. The production target is of 300.000 tons of paper for year. The production procedure is varied and complex depending on the type of paper produced. A large quantity of water is used. It is taken from the River Fibreno.
AN INNOVATIVE SISTEM OF WATER DEPURATION The Burgo Group has an immense plant of purification that is used for treat possible environmental pollution with a view of reduces in biocompatible substances and refuses that must be treated and recycled. The plant of purification take into examination after a tour inside and out of the “Cartiera Burgo” shows how the water is purified both inbound, both in outgoing, “acque reflue”, a proceeding rather sophisticated. The first process of water purification inbound is a type mechanical-fisic: there is a bar screen that allowing the elimination of the large material. All is sent into two sedimentatories in a bathtub of accumulation and in a final sedimentator for a total of about 700-750 m3/h of treated water. The treatment of the “ acque reflue” instead is addressed at first into three “sediflottatori Krofta” and then in a bathtub of equalization , in a bathtub of oxidation with activated sludge, a sedimentator recovery sludge and a final sedimentator for a total of about 700-750m3/h of reflue treated water. At this point the water is ready to be recycled and re-integrated little by little. The dense part is filled in special areas, and through hydrated lime, the sedimentation material will be led to special furnaces and dried for the manufacturing of bricks.
POLAND ROMANIA ITALY TURKEY COMENIUS 1 GREECE UNITED KINGDOM FRANCE HUNGARY In conclusion What can we make therefore? Once the problem has been understood, we must think about facing the problem and above all about solving it, as we are the citizens of tomorrow and for this reason we must take care, from now on, about the environment in which we live. We mustn’t allow pollution to ruin us and our future and it is for this reason that we Italian children will engage ourselves, with our teachers, to resolve this dramatic problem. To follow on we propose a "Decalogue" which is needed to safeguard the environment: 1- to respect the atmosphere. 2- differentiated Collection. 3- not to upset the ecosystems (in occasion of a picnic, not to play football, not to tear the flowers, not to take nests). 4- not to provoke fires. 5- not to burn polluting materials. 6- not to pollute the water. 7- not to waste several types of energy. 8- to use the bicycle instead of a scooter. 9- to use biodegradable material. 10- everyone must feel an ecologist!
