Comments & Recommend Resolution • CID# 185: • Comment (Table 117, page 56, line 54): • Should the wording of this footnote be identical to the wording of the similar footnote in Table 116? • Proposed Change: • Make change if necessary. • Recommend Resolution: Accept in principle • Resolution Detail: • Change the wording of the footnote in Table 117 to be the same as Table 116. • CID# 265: • Comment (5.2.4.2.3, page 20, line 51): • The mode switch settling is defined in other sections of the document as having a range of 0-512 usec. The range here is limited to 255 usec. • Recommend Resolution: Accept • Resolution Detail: • Change the text to "Settling Delay is an unsigned integer whose value times two is the settling delay in microseconds (0-512 usec).”
Comments & Recommend Resolution • CID# 466: • Comment: • A zero length secondary preamble and no secondary SFD can cause synchronization issues. • Proposed Change: • Clarify and as needed, reduce the list in the ModeSwitchDescriptor to a useful subset. • Recommend Resolution: Accept in principle • Resolution Detail: • When a mode switch PPDU is received, the receiver already established initial synchronization to the transmitter. For a mode switch from FSK modulation to FSK modulation, the re-synchronization is minimal. Also, the receiver is aware of the length of the preamble and whether a secondary SFD exists, and knows when to expect the new mode PPDU (see the text in line 1-5 of page 6). Given this mode switch could happen very quick, it is beneficial to allow for a zero length secondary preamble and for the SFD to be omitted. No change is needed.
