Main Collaborator: National Board for Small Scale Industries • Goal and Purpose: To contribute to the sustainable overall industrial and business development of Ghana by exposing and equipping selected final year students of KNUST to entrepreneurship. • Vision: KBI is set up to actively promote, nurture and sustain innovative and competitive start-up businesses that emanated from research and innovative works of students. • Mission: KBI assist in thedevelopment of micro, small and medium-size enterprises through the provision of business premises, training, coaching, and mentoring of students with innovative ideas. • Target: The project initially targets twenty-five final year undergraduate and graduate students (projects) of KNUST who are committed to the setting up of innovative and creative businesses. Sectors:KBI supports the establishment of businesses in the areas where incubatees have already acquired some knowledge and skills based on resources in areas where Ghana has comparative international advantage within West Africa • Objectives: • To provide support through the provision of premises, training, • coaching and mentoring towards selected projects of students. • 2. Offer assistance to student start-up productive enterprises through the • adoption of risk management practices etc. • 3. To continually offer support to businesses that have graduated from • the facility until they are well grounded. • 4. To provide facilities which promotes a conducive environment for the • development of student enterprises.

  15. CONCLUSION KNUST (Ghana) will not become the next Silicon Valley over night, but we have made a promising start. We do believe that our positive relations with industry and other stakeholders will catapult us towards a more sustainable development. The Entrepreneurship Revolution is here!
