Does the health of your students affect their academic performance?
School Health Index is an evidence based tool to get you started • This does not rate your performance as a teacher • Does not rate any person or department individually
Not like the ‘school report card”, results stay in the building/district • We are looking at what is available to the student; not just what the school provides • Looks at the supportive environment
How can I access the SHI? • Complete the SHI interactively on the Web http://www.cdc.gov/HealthyYouth/shi/ • Download, print, or order from Web site • Request by • E-mail: cdc-info@cdc.gov • Toll-free phone: 1-800-CDC-INFO • https://apps.nccd.cdc.gov/shi/default.aspx
