  2. What Do We Do Here? Students in class receive Language Arts and/or Math instruction. • It is individualized • Small group and/or 1:1 instruction

  3. Language Arts • Journeys program will be used *Supplemental materials used as needed *Focusing on reciprocal teaching skills -predict, question, clarify, summarize to better comprehension *Making connections from text to self & world *Vocabulary *Fiction & Nonfiction text • Guided reading-at individual reading levels

  4. Language Arts • Orton-Gillingham phonics instruction -a multi-sensory approach to phonics • Writing/Grammar • Centers to practice skills & strategies taught

  5. Envisions Math Program • Includes ability to individualize and assign work • More computer-based learning and support • Includes center activities and games to make learning more fun!

  6. ROCKET MATH • PRACTICE NIGHTLY AT HOME • PRACTICE DAILY IN CLASS • TIMED TESTS DAILY

  7. Success Maker • Online program that is individualized • Used daily in class

  8. Homework: We will begin writing assignments in planners and graduate to using online information. Calendars/planners should be checked daily.

  9. Executive Function Skills Executive function skill involve: *planning and organizing *paying attention to task *prioritizing work *controlling emotions
