  3. Nervous System • Brain, Spinal Cord, and Nerves • Brain controls many body’s main functions • Nerves and Spinal Cord relay messages between the brain and body systems.

  4. Circulatory System • Heart, Blood, and Blood Vessels • Takes both oxygen and nutrients to the cells • Takes waste away from the cells

  5. Respiratory System • Lungs • Supplies the blood with Oxygen • Inhale Oxygen, Exhale Carbon Dioxide

  6. Skeletal System • Bones • Protects Organs • Gives Human Body its shape • Helps the body move

  7. Muscular System • Skeletal Muscles, Smooth Muscles, Cardiac Muscles • Tissue that makes the body move • Voluntary and Involuntary Muscles

  8. Digestive System • Stomach, Small Intestine, Large Intestine • Taking in Food • Absorbing Nutrients • Elimination of Waste

  9. Excretory or Urinary System • Kidneys • Gets Rid of Waste • Regulates the amount of water present in the body fluids • Kidneys filter the blood and makes sure that the body expels waste

  10. Endocrine System • Influences Mood, Growth and Development, Tissue Function, and Metabolism • Pineal Gland, Pituitary Gland, Thyroid Gland

  11. Reproductive System • Process of New Life Beginning • Having a Baby

  12. Activity • In your group, List conditions or diseases that affect your groups Body System. Use your previous knowledge and experience to come up with the answer. Write your responses on the butcher paper big enough for the whole class to read.
