  9. Create your own emails... • Write an e-mail message for the following situations. Consider: audience ~ purpose ~ language... • #1 & 2: You missed class yesterday because of a field trip and you need to find out what you missed. Write to a (1) friend from the class and to your (2) teacher to find out what happened and what you need to do to catch up.

  10. Create your own emails... • #3. A long time customer of a local candy store wrote to the store about incorrect advertising. The candy store advertised that all megapacked candy was $21.99 and did not list any exceptions. However, he was charged $41.99 instead and told by the store manager that the sales price didn’t apply to that variety. His letter to the company received the following email response: “Thank you for your interest in our candy store. Please enjoy the coupons we’ve attached.” (Continued on next slide.)

  11. Create your own emails... • Needless to say, the man was happy to receive the coupons, but he really felt like the candy store could care less about him and he felt like he was a pretty loyal customer. If YOU had been the customer service representative at the candy store, how would you have responded the customer? Write an email with your response to the customers original letter.
