Project Goals • Create work-based learning curriculum for frontline staff articulated with college credit certificate and AS Degree • Provide accessible program engaging workers and supervisors • Increase wages of graduates • Implement sustainable, replicable model with ROI for employer partners
Partnership Model Diverse employer partners • Temple Episcopal Hospital: Large, centralized location; unionized workforce • Public Health Management Corporation: Mid-sized, residential agency; multi sites; non-union Sustainable labor-management partnership as intermediary • District 1199C Training & Upgrading Fund
Work-based Learning:Building on Competencies • Identify standards for knowledge, skills, and abilities at entry level and higher level(s) as basis for wage steps • Create WBL curricula that integrates identified competencies with innovative delivery of instruction • Link competencies to college credit that provides a portable, recognized credential
