Elements of Design The goal is to design and create an item that will be attractive using: • Color • Balance • Harmony
Choosing Fabric & Materials • Choose a fabric you like, and/or suggests a theme. • Coordinate other fabrics with 1st choice. • Categorize fabrics into groups (cute, fancy). • Choose fabrics that contrast each other. • Choose designs of different sizes, scale, types of patterns, etc.
Choosing a Garment/Accessory • Examine the fabric. • Test for wearability. • Check the grain and construction. • Is it suitable for they way you plan to wear it? • Consider garment care.
